Dissertationen

Derzeit promovieren bei uns rund 40 Doktorand*innen in den Disziplinen englische, amerikanische und postkoloniale Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft, englische Sprachwissenschaft sowie englische Sprachgeschichte. Das Englische Seminar Freiburg gehört somit sowohl im Bereich der Qualität der Ausbildung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses als auch in Hinblick auf die Quantität der Promotionsverfahren zur deutschen Spitzengruppe.

Das Seminar unterstützt dabei mehr als die Hälfte aller Doktorand*innen finanziell durch die vergütete Mitarbeit an Lehrstühlen oder in Forschungsprojekten. Darüber hinaus werden viele unserer Promovierenden über Stipendien gefördert.
